How link tracking works

If you clicked a short link in someone's email signature and ended up here, this page explains what was recorded.

What happens on a click

Links in signatures made with Sincerely may go through a short redirect domain before reaching their destination. When you click one, we record: the time, the destination, a one-way hash of your IP address salted with a value that changes daily (so clicks can be de-duplicated for 24 hours but never traced back to you or joined across days), your browser family (e.g. “Chrome”), and your country.

What we deliberately don't do

No tracking pixels: opening the email records nothing, anywhere, ever.
No raw IP addresses are stored.
No cookies are set by the redirect.
No cross-site profiles; click data is only shown to the sender's organisation as aggregate counts.

Why clicks and not opens?

A click is a deliberate action, functionally the same as clicking a link on a website. Open-tracking pixels fire silently against every recipient, which UK and EU regulators now treat as requiring consent. We built Sincerely without them.
