The deployment problem

Designing the signature is an afternoon. Getting it identically installed for 80 people, and re-installed every time marketing changes the banner, is the actual product problem. Here are the real options, honestly compared.

Option 1: send instructions and hope

Email everyone a template and a how-to. Cost: free. Result, measured across many rollouts: roughly half install it within a week, a quarter mangle it in pasting, and nobody ever updates it again. Fine for five people who sit together.

Option 2: Gmail API via a Marketplace app

A domain admin installs an app that writes each user's Gmail signature through Google's API. Genuinely zero-touch. The trade-off is invisible but real: the vendor holds restricted Gmail scopes for your whole domain, gated by Google's annual security assessment regime.

Option 3: managed client-side deployment (Sincerely)

Signatures are generated per person from your directory data, installed with one click via a Chrome extension (or a personal link, no account needed), and re-synced automatically every few hours, so central changes propagate the same day. A dashboard shows exactly who is current. For managed Chrome fleets, Workspace admins can force-install the extension domain-wide from the Admin console, making deployment a single admin action.

• ✓200+ with compliance requirements on every message: consider server-side injection (mail-flow rewriting), a different architecture with its own deliverability engineering.
